Mr. Gallo has more than two decades of experience working with professional news organizations, including The Washington Post, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, The Dallas Morning News, The Baltimore Examiner and CBSSports.com. As a staff writer at The Washington Post, he was a member of the newspaper’s Pulitzer Prize-winning team for the breaking news category in 2007. At the Baltimore Examiner, he served as Sports Editor, Sunday News Editor and Intern Coordinator, in addition to writing stories and award-winning columns.
After the Baltimore Examiner closed in 2009, he served as a Principal Editor at General Dynamics Information Technology, where he worked on an international website that supported the U.S. Armed Forces’ interests throughout Latin America and the world. After General Dynamics’ contract with the government ended, he accepted a position as a recruiter for a private company that works in the cleared sector.
He’s remained a very active writer an editor, as he’s partnered with Timothy Maier on Baltimore Post- Examiner where he serves as Managing Editor. He edits and posts stories and pictures, as well as writes movie and concert reviews, in addition to sports columns and features. He’s used his skills to improve the website’s readership and credibility, as major artists such as Prince, Billy Joel, Justin Timberlake, and James Taylor have all granted media access to the website, as have the U.S. Naval Academy, the U.S. Military Academy, NHL, World Wrestling Entertainment, and Disney, among others.
While at The Washington Post, he was one of the paper’s most published writers, showing his versatility to cover high school, college, and professional sports, in addition to writing for the Food and News For Kids sections.
While working at General Dynamics, he also worked part-time as an assignment editor for CBSSports.com, where he played a major role in shaping the website’s college football, college basketball, NFL, and fantasy sports coverage by overseeing a team of writers. He started at CBSSports.com as a writer covering the Baltimore Ravens, but was promoted after his second year to lead a remote editing and writing team based throughout the country.
He holds a Bachelor’s in Journalism from the University of Georgia.
Mr. Maier has nearly three decades of experience working with news organizations, including newspapers, magazines, radio and online news websites. He has been an award-winning managing editor/reporter at several major news organizations in Wisconsin, Maryland and Washington D.C.
He was one of the founding editors of the Examiner newspaper chain where he transformed the Journal Newspapers into The Washington Examiner. He was promoted to the news department at the Baltimore Examiner.
Mr. Maier also has launched several start-up news companies, including international websites where hundreds of stringers reported around the globe. His work has been cited by Pulitzer-Prize winning authors and published in the Congressional Record and turned into films. Mr. Maier has appeared on or worked with shows such as 20/20, Fox and Friends, History Channel, CNN, as well as hundreds of talk radio shows. He has won more than a dozen national and regional awards. Mr. Maier holds two Bachelor’s degrees from the University of Wisconsin in Speech and Communications with an emphasis on journalism.
Mr. Gallo has decades of experience as a commercial and corporate lawyer in the private sector as well as in-house with publicly held corporations and their subsidiaries, including A. O. Smith Corporation (AgriStor Credit Corporation), Dataserv, Inc. and BellSouth Corporation. He has served as Secretary and General Counsel of Dataserv as well as Vice-President and General Counsel of BellSouth Financial Services Corporation. Since retirement from law practice, he has served as a director and officer of several non-profit boards, including Temple Emanuel, Inc. and the Roanoke Jewish Federation, most recently as President of Temple Emanuel, Inc. of Roanoke, Virginia.
He holds a Bachelor’s in Psychology from The State University of New York at Buffalo and the degree of Juris Doctor from Cleveland-Marshall College of Law of Cleveland State University. He has been licensed to practice in Ohio and Wisconsin as well as the United States District Court for the Northern District of Ohio, Eastern Division and the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Wisconsin.
